The cover plus pages 66 to 79 in the May 2017 issue of Ireland's Homes Interiors and Living magazine featuring Anna and Jamie McMinnis' contemporary detached house which overlooks the County Down town of Holywood and Belfast Lough.

“With a growing family in mind, Anna and Jamie bought this architecturally designed home in Holywood with its spectacular views of Belfast Lough and child-friendly garden.”

Which I talked about shooting here: Overlooking Belfast Lough.

So just want to say a huge Congratulations to both Jamie and Anna here…

Overlooking Belfast Lough.

This week we headed to Holywood in County Down (as opposed to Hollywood in American) were we produce some images of this magnificent house…
Anna and Jamie McMinnis's contemporary detached house which overlooks the County Down town of Holywood and Belfast Lough.
.. which belongs to Anna & Jamie McMinnis.

Pretty stunning – as were the view too, as it looked out over Belfast Lough – which on a day like this, was something else.

Anyway, inside was equally impressive – to the eye anyway – but as can been seen here…
One of the first picture taken in the living room area of Anna & Jamie McMinnis's contemporary detached house which overlooks the County Down town of Holywood and Belfast Lough.
.. what looks good to the eye, doesn’t always look good for the camera – or at least not as good as one would like it to be sometimes.

So the team when to work on this one – Claudio set-up the lights and Marie…
One of the first picture taken in the living room area of Anna & Jamie McMinnis's contemporary detached house which overlooks the County Down town of Holywood and Belfast Lough.
.. well she posed for another ‘a behind the scenes’ image by the looks of it wink

Anyway, after both Marie & Claudio had done their thing, the transform was from the the camera’s point of view, was now more like what my eye was seeing, i.e. a beautiful room which would look amazing especially if the sun was pouring in.
So once we had achieved that, then it was time for a shot of Anna – and this was the result…

.. as she posed to perfection, to complete the story we were trying to tell here.

The kitchen was next…

.. which as you can see here…

.. required very little work, besides the placement of a few very nice cups and the controlling of the light.

And so it was throughout this contemporary style house – Claudio worked on the lighting, Marie posed for another ‘behind the sense’ shot…

.. as well as added the final touches too – which, joking aside, I think she is brilliant at – and I took lots of pictures like this…

.. to complete the story that we were all trying to tell – which was simply to say, it looks amazing, as you can see smile

Anna’s reply, after I sent her a link to preview our work, as well as her own of course:

“Thank you very much Ashley for sending us the photographs, they look stunning!”

“Praise is bread to an artist” – so thank you and thank you for inviting us in too – because we felt that your house and what you had done here inside it, was pretty stunning too – so great ‘team work’ is how I would see it smile

Victorian townhouse for sale.

At the time we shooting Laura & David’s Victorian townhouse in Holywood, it was actually up for sale…
For sale.
.. but as that was not what we where there to talk about, then let’s forget about that…
Laura and David Menary's Victorian townhouse in the County Down town of Holywood.
.. and let’s see what was behind the door instead wink

The Story-line:

David is an Estate Agent and Laura is a Solicitor.
Laura has taken time out to look after Lily but has set up a little business sourcing vintage tea sets and converting the cups to candles.

Basically a complete refurbishment along with a kitchen extension.

So it was all about creating a set of images to tell that story – and so we first set-up a shot…
Getting ready.
.. to show Laura and her daughter Lily…

.. sitting in front of a large framed ‘Come to Ulster’ print, of Belfast lough – so now you know this is Holywood not Hollywood we are talking about here smile

Anyway, we then turned around to shoot the kitchen extension…

.. which when lit and styled…

.. looked amazing, as did their ground floor sitting room, which was very striking…

.. and so after lighting that up…

.. it was time to zoom-in on some of Laura’s vintage tea set candles…

.. before heading upstairs with Marie…

.. and complete the story that we wanted to tell – about this Victorian townhouse in Holywood and the people who live their – which is for sale – as we are now hoping that this set of images and story behind them, will be of great interest to a number of different magazines over the coming years smile

Good Homes

Shooting at Elizabeth Jonsson Beech’s home…
Elizabeth Jonsson and Brian Patterson's Norwegian timber framed house near Holywood in County Down.
.. near Holywood in County Down yesterday – where the sun was shinning and the sky was blue.

So with two top interior designers at work here…
Elizabeth Jonsson Beech and Marie McMillen
.. it was no surprise we ended up with some great images both inside…
The living room in Elisabeth Jonsson and Brian Patterson’s Scandinavia style home near Holywood in County Down.
.. and outside…

So while the two girls worked away at getting each room ready…
Setting up the bedroom shot
.. I lit it up…

.. and as Good Homes magazine said ‘Yes please’ to it right away, I reckon it should look great in their summer issue 🙂

So congratulations girls – way to go.
