Pieced together.

Next morning we were back into the Tara Suite…
One of the first pictures taken during the shoot at Dunboyne Castle Hotel.
.. now that it was free – this time to show it’s full size.

So podium down…

.. lights up inside…

.. and outside too…

.. and then it was time for some steaming…

.. pulling…

.. and even some pining…

.. as we all worked at reducing the creases as much as possible…

.. which in the end, after everything was done, looked like so:

Which just left one shot to go – the Drawing Room…

.. set for a private dinner party, in the late evening, being the brief.

Which originally I thought we were going to have to wait for once again – but no, it was full steam head…

.. as we dismantled it all…

.. then ironed not only all the table clothes…

.. but also all the chair covers too…

.. which made for some very interesting behind the scenes shots…

.. before we put it back together again…

.. just as it was before:

Quick shot…

.. to confirm that we hadn’t done anything at anyone would notice…

.. which meant it was time to start working on the lighting – which both Claudio…

.. and Ivan here…

.. had all under control – included it’s security too, as the hotel was very busy.

Meanwhile, back inside, Dianne & I were on the floor…

.. doing something which obviously must have seem very important at the time smile

Anyway, after the candles and the fire had been lit, the waiter had been positioned, etc, etc – this was the final result…

.. once it was all pieced together – or amped as we would say – as there is often a lot more put into these images, than anyone (I’m hoping) will ever think or even notice wink

Which just leaves me to say a Big Thanks to everyone who was involved here – especially Rosalie, who was amazingly well organised throughout the shoot – and to all the hotel’s staff too, as it was a real pleasure to work with you all once again – from Dianne, Claudio, Ivan & me @ ampimage.com smile

The home page.

On the Straffan House home page today, I see they are now using some of the images that we created a few weeks ago – like of the Swimming pool with the swim-up bar…

.. the Dining room

.. and the Master bedroom here…

.. which is still the part that I always love to see, i.e. how our work is used – even after all these years smile.

Looks amazing as far as I’m concerned – not that I’m bias or anything like that wink. – as it was and is an amazing place to start with – but Wow, I really do love how it looks now – so be sure to check it out, as I’m very proud to say that I was a part of this – as it was like a dream come true for me, after 30 years of practising the art of writing with light to tell a story.

Gentleman’s residence.

The sky was blue and the sun was shining – so the first shot in the bag was the exterior of this large detached Victorian house…
Fiona and Conor O'Kane's detached Victorian Gentleman’s residence in Belfast.
.. which belonged to Fiona and Conor O’Kane – who are both are Barristers here in Belfast.

The Storyline:

Fiona and Conor bought the house approx 6 years ago and since then, have done a huge amount of work to it – they tackled quite a bit themselves – knocking down walls, decorating, etc, etc.

So with Stuart, who normally assists us out on Hotel shoots, helping out with lighting and that – Marie made a start inside…

.. by doing her thing, before we asked Fiona & Conor to strike a pose in the drawing room…

.. in front of the black marble fireplace – which it seems swung the sale for them when they first saw it.

Then from there, it was into the sitting room across the hall – where both Marie and Stuart both swung into action…

.. before I shot it two ways – with and without the fire lit…

.. to give the Editors a choice – in case they wanted to run with it in one of their spring or summer issues, instead of one of their winter or autumn issues Smile

Anyway, it was then into the kitchen area at the back of the house…

.. which as you can see, was less traditional…

.. and very bright…

.. which made a really lovely contrast.

Huge house – but with Stuart helping us out here, we were up to the bedrooms…

.. just after lunch – and once again I was most impressed…

.. with their style & taste, in this beautiful Victorian Gentleman’s residence.

So just a quick note to say thanks to everyone here – and especially to Fiona & Conor for inviting us in and making us feel so welcome.
